1st of May Park

The oldest park in the Lower City. It was founded in 1894 and was located on the territory of the All-Russian Trade, Industry and Art Exhibition.
At the moment, the park is a place of attraction for Nizhny Novgorod residents of all ages. For children, there is a dolphinarium, amusement and activity parks “Madagascar”, and petting zoo “Teremok” which are open all year round. Adults can visit a café and a restaurant, stroll in a fairy-tale forest and in winter, skate at the rink made on the paths of the park.

Avtozavodsky Park

The central park of the Avtozavodsky district is a vivid example of Stalinist architecture. The Avtozavodskiy park is a perfect place for leisurely walks in the coolness of shady trees. There are 2 lakes, an amusement park for children, cafes and restaurants in the park.

Kulibin Park

The park located in the central part of Nizhny Novgorod is named after the Russian self-taught mechanic Ivan Kulibin. There are 2 cafes, a playground, a nightclub and a youth theatre.

Victory Park

The park founded in honour of the 40th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War (World War II), is located near the Rowing canal embankment, one of the most beautiful coastal places in the city. The Park presents a wide range of military equipment, some interactive areas are created for children.

Pushkin Park

The former "Pushkin garden" welcomes guests with a birch grove with an area of 5 hectares (the age of the trees is more than 100 years), which now houses cafes and amusement areas, as well as an elite fitness club of the WorldClass network.

Sormovo Park

The largest park in the city (more than 145 hectares) which consists of several zones:
* lake with a beach and boat and catamaran rental;
* the “Limpopo” zoo which is home to more than 270 species of animals, many of which are listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation and are not found in any other zoo in Russia. At the moment, the collection has more than 1,500 animals from all over the world. In addition, the zoo presents a unique tropical Botanical garden, part of the complex “Amazonia”;
* amusement area with a big Ferris wheel, a zoo for children and the extreme-park “Madagascar”;
* outdoor water park;
* catering area.

Switzerland Park

The Park Arboretum is located along the bank of the Oka River in the city’s Prioksky District. Here you can find Manchurian Walnut, Amur Cork Tree and Red Oak which are unusual for the region. Orchid, Lady's slipper and Perennial Honesty that grow here are on the IUCN Red List.
There are rides, cafes and restaurants on the territory of the park. Besides, there is a “Switzerland” zoo where you can see deer, lynx, wolves, camels, tigers, raccoons and other animals.

Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin

Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin is a fortress in the historical centre of Nizhny Novgorod. It is located on the high right bank, at the confluence of the Oka and the Volga rivers. Kremlin is the favourite vacation spot for both city residents and tourists. The best viewing area is located here from where you can observe river flows embraced by the forest area. Here there are the exposition of military equipment and also the eternal flame, which symbolizes people’s solemn memory of the fallen heroes, fighters for freedom and honour of their homeland. The fortress itself consists of 13 towers – inside of some of them there are exhibitions dedicated to the history of Nizhny Novgorod region.

Fedorovsky embankment

When you find yourself on the Fedorovsky embankment, you truly realize why the prince Yuri decided to found a city here. The embankment offers a splendid view on Strelka (the confluence of the Volga river and the Oka river), the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Volga river and the Kanvinsky bridge. Recently, the composition was complemented by “Nizhny Novgorod Stadium” specifically built for 2018 FIFA World Cup. One of the main objects worth seeing of the embankment itself is a sitting figure of Maxim Gorky monument situated in the beginning of the embankment. The monument is modern and represents the style of Socialist Realism. The writer, whose appearance seems to be copied with almost a photographic precision, is sitting and leaning on his stick, thoughtfully looking at the river. You can not help joining him!

Nizhne-Volzhskaya Embankment

City residents call the Nizhne-Volzhskaya Embankment stretching along the river for several kilometers “New Embankment”. From the Kanavinsky Bridge to the ferry crossing the river to the town of Bor, there are many interesting things: a large walking zone with a great number of facilities for recreation, the river station, the monument military “Hero” boat, the sculpture of the Deer, the symbol of Nizhny Novgorod, and endless tents with coffee and ice cream.

Shchelokovsky Khutor

The forest park with three lakes is a favorite place for bathing and recreation of Nizhny Novgorod’s residents and guests. In the heart of the park, there is a Museum of Wooden Architecture, where 14 monuments of wooden architecture of 17th – 19th centuries are collected which have been transported from Gorodets, Semenov, Kovernino, Kstovo districts of Nizhny Novgorod region.
